| About the Artist |
| Adriana Repetto Mead is a greater-Boston based classical musician and artist who has been designing and creating jewelry for about eighteen years. The primary inspiration for her work is the nuance of colors as found in nature, art and music. They influence not only her blending of gemstones and precious metals, but also her sense of shape and dimension which leans towards the classic rather than the contemporary, although there are always exceptions! Adriana expresses that inspiration using sterling and fine silver, and some 14k gold, with precious and semi-precious stones & pearls (freshwater, Tahitian and South Sea). Her metal work comprises bezel-set stones in rings, pendants and other pieces, as well as hammered and hand-wrought designs in sterling and fine silver. She designs all of her pieces and creates them herself in her studio, keeping each creation one of a kind or a limited edition. Adriana chooses her gemstones and raw precious metals with great care, working closely with trusted suppliers. She primarily uses and supports suppliers who embrace fair trade and deal in sustainable resources. An award-winning designer, she is a member of the Newton Art Association and the organizer of a yearly December juried crafts show in Boston’s Copley Square. |
